The Organisational Brand Management Team caught up with the Chief Financial Officer to understand the changes in how Services SETA pays stipends to learners. This follows a decision by the Services SETA to insource the payment of stipends to the learner.

The Services SETA wishes to congratulate the Chairperson of the Accounting Authority, Dr Maria Madiope, on her appointment as Principal of the South Campus at the University of Free State (UFS). She has successfully served as the Director for University Teaching and learning since 2015 and takes her role incredibly seriously.

The Services Sector Education and Training Authority (Services SETA) was established and registered in March 2000 in terms of the skills development Act of 1998 and is responsible for the disbursement of the training levies payable by all employers. These levies are collected by the South African Revenue Service (SARS) via the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), and are to be disbursed through a management system motivated by skills requirement assessment and monitoring.
